Rocella currently serves as the Communications 9-1-1 Center Manager for the Village of Wheeling, where she directs all activities of the multi-jurisdictional Communications Center, including planning, organizing, directing personnel, budgeting and writing/administering policies. She is responsible for both forecasting needs, and providing for the overall technical and managerial requirements of the Communications Center. In 2017, Rocella was named Director of the Year by The Illinois Association of Public Safety Communications Officials.
Prior to her work in Wheeling, Rocella was employed at Northwest Central Dispatch System, where she served in a variety of capacities during her 25 year tenure, including Telecommunicator, Operations Manager, Training Manager and Assistant Director-Operations. Rocella has a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Kendall College and has completed the NENA Center Manager Certification Program. She has attended the NPELRA academies and completed the CLRP certification. Rocella has served on the Board since 2013, is currently Chair of IPELRA’s Sponsorship Committee
